37-Mile Hidalgo County/Department of Homeland Security/United States International Boundary
and Water Commission Levee Rehabilitation / Border Security Project, Hidalgo County, TX ($213 M)
This Project was built on an accelerated 16-month schedule. The program was subdivided into 14 individual
projects with individual projects designed and constructed in less than ten months. Engineering design for the 23
miles of levee improvements was completed in an astounding three months. Served as Project Administrator for
this $213 Million Dollar Project involving design and construction of over fourteen (14) projects, which includes the
following: contract administration (including 6 subconsultants); invoicing (subconsultant invoicing and monthly
invoicing) as well as, monthly government agency coordination for approvals and reports with DHS in Washington,
DC and USIBWC in El Paso; program cost analysis; administrative Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC);
document control; progress reports; meeting minutes; baseline schedule; and weekly activity reports.

US 83 Zapata for the TxDOT Pharr District ($150 M)
This project involved advance planning, preparation of an environmental document and schematic design for 63
miles of major roadway. Right-of-way mapping included the preparation of 8 right-of-way map sets and nearly 300
parcel plats and legal descriptions were prepared. The right-of-way mapping required the boundary verification of
some 51 Porciones and 1 Empressario Grant, the surveying of numerous partitions of the Porciones that took place over
the last 250 years, and the field location and surveying of an Ejido. This project was divided into 3 phases: Phase I
encompassed the advance planning and environmental assessment (EA); Phase II consisted of the schematic
development (including extensive drainage considerations); and Phase III involved the final schematic design.
Incorporated into the scope were divided main lanes, frontage roads, at-grade intersections and numerous
interchanges. Served as Project Administrator for this Project, which includes the following: contract
administration (including 6 subconsultants); invoicing (subconsultant invoicing and monthly invoicing) as well as,
monthly government agency coordination for approvals and reports; program cost analysis; administrative Quality
Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC); document control; progress reports; meeting minutes; baseline schedule;
and weekly activity reports.
Hidalgo County Outer Loop, Hidalgo County, Texas ($208 M)
This project consisted of a team of four different consulting firms, which were selected to develop an outer
highway loop of Hidalgo County that would provide an uninterrupted corridor connecting all existing and future
international crossings and other intermodal facilities. This would include airports, interstate, and international
traffic. The general location includes the northernmost boundary of FM 490; westernmost boundary of FM 2221;
southernmost boundary of US 83, Military Highway and US 281; and easternmost boundary of FM 1015 and FM 88.
The project will be developed in four phases 1) route location; 2) schematic and environmental assessment (EA);
3) preliminary design; and 4) final design. This project was funded by Hidalgo County. Served as Project
Administrator for this Project, which includes the following: contract administration (including 3 subconsultants);
invoicing (subconsultant invoicing and monthly invoicing) as well as, monthly government agency coordination for
approvals and reports; program cost analysis; administrative Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC);
document control; progress reports; meeting minutes; baseline schedule; and weekly activity reports and
coordination for public meetings and/or hearings. Performed close coordination with other three consulting firms
to ensure project tracking was consistent between all firms.
Cameron County Route and Alignment Studies, Cameron County, Texas
Dannenbaum performed route studies for the determination of possible corridor alternates for 14 individual
roadways within Cameron County divided into two separate projects. Work efforts included agency coordination,
environmental reviews, utility systems evaluations (water and sewer line impact analyses based on possible

relocation or modification of facilities), cost estimates, public involvement (including stakeholder and/or public
meetings), and preliminary findings/recommendations for preferred alternates with right-of-way considerations for
each of the 14 roadways. All of these roads were located within the City of Harlingen and the City of San Benito's
Extraterritorial Jurisdictions. Served as Project Administrator for this Project, which includes the following: contract
administration (including 3 subconsultants); invoicing (subconsultant invoicing and monthly invoicing) as well as,
government agency coordination for approvals and reports; program cost analysis; administrative Quality
Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC); document control; progress reports; meeting minutes; baseline schedule;
weekly activity reports, and coordination for public meetings and/or hearings.
